jasonhoese
Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted something on here. No video yet but I do have a question hopefully someone can help me with. I have a Hummingbird Vintage that I would like to play out with but don't want to alter in any way to put a pickup system in. I have an LR Baggs M80 soundhole pickup but because the pickguard on the Humminbird is so thick the high e string is muted by the pickup when I fret anything higher than the fourth position. It's not any of the pole pieces causing the issue so lowering them won't fix my problem. The string rubbing against the plastic. Any good suggestions on pickups out there that will lay flatter and maybe not cause the issue? Thanks in advance! Jason
QuestionMark
I suggest that if you are near a San Ash Music or Fuitar Center that you bring the guitar with you there and ask to try out in person their sound hole pickups. I did that years back and they were fine with it. QM aka Jazzman Jeff
MorrisrownSal
ANy chance this could be set up incorrectly? This sounds weird. Anyways I had one of these as a backup - gave it a away. Seems like it is an easy solution, wont break the bank, and it sounds good. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DP138?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImIzS5reg2QIVRx6GCh03FwO3EAQYAyABEgJK2PD_BwE This one I have always been curious about.... also low profile it seems: https://www.amazon.com/Fishman-Earth-Humbucking-Soundhole-Pickup/dp/B0002D070I
