Its like this I voted for Obama and we needed a change I am pro military and even with this we needed a change. I personally could not afford another 4 years of status que... But now with all this money being given away to line the pockets of not only the banks but unions and big business I am beginning to worry maybe we should have picked

IMHO, the choices in this poll are too limited. The inauguration was only a month ago, and I don't feel that's enough time to judge whether President Obama will be a good leader or not.

While I personally didn't vote for the man because of his relative lack of experience, I feel that anyone who holds the office deserves enormous respect. None of us in this Forum can possibly imagine the pressure, responsibility, and scrutiny that comes with the office...I know for sure that I wouldn't want the job! <g>

So, while I voted Nobama, I say give the man a chance to prove himself.

I consider myself to be in the middle as a fiscal conservative but social liberal and, if I had to label myself as being identified with one party, it'd be the Libertarians I like the (supposed) Republican ideal of small government with little interference with the private sector but they just can't seem to keep their noses out of my personal business and want to press their social ideals on everyone. The Democrats want everyone to have a fair share out of life but they want to do it by throwing money at every sing problem, punish people who work hard for their money while giving that same money away to those who choose to not work for it

So, as I see it, the Republicans had control of the whole thing for six years and left the country a mess. Therefore, I'm willing to give the Democrats a shot - at this point, they couldn't do much worse.

Overall, I think all politicians are out-of-touch *** kissers who were born with silver spoons in their mouths. Nobody can do a job right where keeping that job depends on popular opinion.

I never understand the rationale of it can't get any worse. This president is throwing money around at an alarming rate. Billions upon billions that will be an undertow on future generations. If socialist practices worked russia and cuba would be the envy of the world. His attempts now to control the banks is another step in the wrong direction. He may be able to quote a line from our forefathers( Jefferson, Adams, Lincoln) but he has no clue as to what they stood for and believed.

The question is?

Why do you NOT care?

It's your future.

Think about it.................

Murph.

+1 If you don't vote, all you're doing is letting someone else vote for you. I don't understand how anyone can adopt a "I don't care" attitude towards politics. If you don't like to argue politics is one thing, but whether you like it or not the person in office, whoever it is, is going to be affecting your life. So here's the question, who do you want voicing your opinions for you? Everyone else or you?

PS- I voted for Obama. I'll tell you if he's doing a good job or not in 4 years, when I go vote again.

Cookieman, if you don't like the money being passed out, do not accept any of it when any sort of stimulus is doled out to you. That would be the best way to stand up for what you believe in - just send it back to the government and write your congressman telling him what you did and why.

Smack! Home run. That pretty much sums it up. The system is FUBAR, but I have no idea what would fix it.

I am a conservative who thinks that Obama and his cronies are a major threat to the American way. Now, a few years ago, I THOUGHT I was a liberal, but then I started a small business, published, and did some other things that made me realize that I shouldn't have to pay extra because I got off my *** and attempted to live the American dream.

Also, has anyone noticed that since we've passed the last 2 stimulus bills the stock market has FALLEN. Besides, if you look at the bill, there is very little that will actually stimulate the economy. It's all just liberal, socialist propoganda BS.

If I could build a time machine and go back in time and delete some of the things I've said and written when I thought I was liberal, I would do so in a heartbeat.

I've gotten wiser with age. Still stupid because I'm a man and men get stupid, but wise enough to understand that hard work shouldn't be punished. Oh, and I love AMERICA!

The first was bill was signed by a Republican president who was in office for eight years leading up to the current mess that we're dealing with.
