Guess this bands influence

Someone loaned them a Zep record or two.

Yeah.. It makes me wonder when a band is shaped by their influence this much, if its TOO much or its just as the record company wants it?.. In this case its just so so obvious. Even down to the drum solo at the end of the first track.

EVERYONE is going to compare them to Zep.. But they wont ever be Zep.... Is there a point? They may actually be better off being a great cover/tribute band :P

If Tiny Tim and Robert Plant had a love child...

7 degrees of separation...

Had a regular, really regular 3 nights a week couple weeks a month at Club Mardi Gras in Westville NJ.

One of the dancers woulda been Miss Vicki, around the time of her and Tim officially divorcing.

Good times indeed.

They play pretty well - but it's like a bunch of LZep licks from different songs mixed up into a new "original" song?

They're sort of like Led Zepplin junior or something.

You mentioned a record company - is this something that is being recorded and released? I never heard of them before, but I do not keep up with current bands. Seems a little risky to be releasing plagiarized material, but many think Zep did it, so why not these guys too.

You guys are such a bunch of old hens and why there are hardly anyone left here anymore.

Usually it’s complaining about pop bands that don’t play instruments. Now it’s guys who play instruments.

Oh they suck because are influenced by Led Zeppelin. Oh the drummer sucks because he hasn’t been drumming for forty years.

And the most important of all, as usual, rct makes a post about himself.

No wonder this place is so dead.

Indeed (though I forgive rct pretty much everything short of his dress sense).

There's a few of these type of bands around now. Airborne is another who are a bit too influenced by AC/DC. They even quote Live Wire in the song. I think what the other guys on here are saying is it's ok to be influenced by a band, but it's going a bit far to be a total rip off. Why would I want to listen to a band that sounds so much like Led Zep or AC/DC when I can listen to the actual Led Zeppelin or AC/DC? I guess they have made a name for themselves because lots of young people (teenagers) have never heard Zep or AC/DC. I used to play in a Red Hot Chili Peppers rip off band when I was a teenager, but I knew it was for fun and not a serious band that would go anywhere because it sounded so much like RHCP. Maybe I should have stuck with it now as there is such a market for copy bands. I don't have anything against the bands Airbourne and Greta, but I don't see the point...good for them though if they are getting an audience.

Being the simple soul that I am I just closed my eyes, told myself they are newly-discovered & previously unreleased Zep tracks and enjoyed them......

Nothing new about bands being compared unfavourably with Percy and the boys.

Folks who are as old as I am might remember that Queen, in their very early (pre- Sheer Heart Attack) days, were dismissed by certain critics in the UK record press as being 'Led Zeppelin Lite'.

My son played me one of their tracks only a few days ago and asked me who it was. I said Plant...

What the hell, if you are going to emulate somebody, it may as well be someone good.

Good luck to them.....Young, energetic and making a reasonable sound.

Not like I am jealous or anything being old, past it and knackered.....

The drummer sucks!

I've been playing drums for over 40 years.

Bonham could drum circles around this guy.

So could I

And yet there he is, doing it, while you're posting in a guitar forum that you could do it better. :-k

Sorry, couldn't help but notice.

Nothing about led Zeppelin was original anyway. Seems to me it's about those three chords from Black Dog in the first song and the relationships from stairway in the second, we all know that had been done before and LZ themselves recently fought off a legal claim on the basis that it was old hat, done to death, blues riffage. Yeah, they'd been put together like that a few times before. All of led Zeppelin was derivative. Great, but derivative nonetheless. Actually, the same could be said about nearly all rock music.
