Nothing about led Zeppelin was original anyway. Seems to me it's about those three chords from Black Dog in the first song and the relationships from stairway in the second, we all know that had been done before and LZ themselves recently fought off a legal claim on the basis that it was old hat, done to death, blues riffage. Yeah, they'd been put together like that a few times before. All of led Zeppelin was derivative. Great, but derivative nonetheless. Actually, the same could be said about nearly all rock music. Meh. All music is derivative. Led Zeppelin changed the course of music history. Arguably the most influential band of their time. Dismissing them as derivative or unoriginal is naive at best. Usually it’s complaining about pop bands that don’t play instruments. Now it’s guys who play instruments. Oh they suck because are influenced by Led Zeppelin. Oh the drummer sucks because he hasn’t been drumming for forty years. And the most important of all, as usual, rct makes a post about himself. No wonder this place is so dead. Oh, so because I'm posting in a forum there's no way I could be a better drummer? Or because he is in a YouTube video and I'm on a keyboard that makes him somehow better than me? Yeah, I am a better drummer. Have you ever seen any of my videos playing with other musicians? No you haven't. So how would you know the first thing about my skills as s musician? You know what ive been thinking about this a lot... I think theres more to it than that in this case. They sound and look SOOO much like Led Zeppelin (as in a four piece set up) that its impossible to listen to them without somehow comparing them in some way... In the video I posted of them from 2014 they even seem to be adopting the mannerisms of Led Zep... Theres another vid I saw where the bass player gets on the keyboard.. I mean come on... But it all confuses the heck out of me.. I listen to the music alone and want to like it cos it sounds like Zeppelin and sounds good. BUT they are not Zeppelin. That sound coming from those kids just doesn't compute. But its also like im more disappointed that its not a new Led Zep song than the fact that this band sounds so much like Zep they must have something going on... Weird... But really I wish them nothing but the best of luck... Its a stupidly hard industry and what ever works works... And in the end im happy to see young players getting some attention. I like these guys and must admit some jealousy because when I was that age I tried to do something musically and wasn't able to so I started on a more steady career path. I downloaded their music. Great stuff. Then again I bought Klaatu's album back in the day. Shows me that I like music that reminds me of music that I already like. Carry on..
