Symonkey
Hi, A few weeks ago I picked up my 2018 LP studio, in smokehouse. I absolutely love this guitar - sounds, looks and feels incredible. I need to order some new strings for it, and want to keep them same as what is on it, as I love the sound and feel of them(I believe they are 9-46 according to the website). Any ideas what they might be?
Eracer_Team
Gibson changed from 10's to 9's a while back cause modern guitar players hands aren't as strong as their forefathers for string bending. Put 9 or 10 on... your choice (Gibson bounces between old standard 10-46 and their newer choice 9-46.... So a "light top/heavy bottom combo)... stick to 10-46 you'll be happier with tone

Symonkey
Thanks guys - I was more enquiries about the make and specific model of the strings. Could they be Elixirs?
merciful-evans
I would imagine they are Gibson strings. The Gibson (vintage reissue) Ultralights are 9-42. Lights are 10-46. I use a 0-1" micrometer to check string gauges. Though they are expensive, they are about a 1/4 of the price I paid in the 80s.
Revolution Six
Stock strings can be Gibson or d' Addario or ...etc ... Try Elixir Nanoweb 9-42 or 9-46 or 10-
