Gonna be a Rhodes Scholar! Kinda...

If only I could play keys...

I think it would be a blast to meet and jam since there are so many occupants of the United Kingdom that are active on this forum. I went 4 years ago and jammed with Farnsbarns and it was a blast.

Just realized I used the word blast in 2 consecutive sentences. How unscholarly and with a lack of creativity that sounds.

A Rhodes Scholar! WOW!!!

That REALLY is a superb accolade. My most sincere, heartiest congratulations, Two Ells!

Unlike the last couple of times you've visited these shores I should actually be in the country so would be delighted to meet up at long last!

Please keep us all informed of your possible free dates and I'll do my very damnedest to keep them free.

Were you thinking of an acoustic jam or the plugged variety?

One Ell.

That should be the least of your worries.

You do know that two of the fundamental tenets mentioned by Cecil in instigating and distributing his scholarships were (and I quote);

"...the bringing of the whole uncivilised world under British rule (and) for the recovery of the United States..."

I assume we can all look forward to your achieving those aims?....

Id be up for it if im free... You can be the first American to try one of my guitars :)

The problem for me is that my schedule these days is not really under my control.. My dad is really sick and we spend a lot of time going to doctors appointments and the like and its going to be like that for a while.

But if I can come I will so please keep me updated [thumbup]

LOL I think I can help in both aspects, especially as a representative of the uncivilized world.

Although my lecture stint at Oxford will be short-lived and without the official knowledge of the US selection committee, I still shall party like it's 1999 and tell everyone I am indeed a temporary (transient?) Rhodes scholar.

I am thinking of the plugged variety. I know a drummer (the son of one of the other faculty members) who plays in a fairly successful Indie band in England called Waking Aida and he is keen to play in a jam with his uncle Phil. One L let's make it happen!

2 LL's.

There is nothing wrong with using the word BLAST as many times as you feel the need!
