Gibson Artist
2011 Gibson Les Paul Special. I assume its a hog body with rosewood frets but it also has split coil pickups and a lovely Cherry finish. The seller got me to try it acoustically and i was blown away how sweet it sounded even before it was plugged in! To be honest, this sounds even better than my Standard! I can't believe it! Does anyone happen to know what these pickups are or any other info on specs? The neck is definitely slim and the guy even threw in some locking strap locks, how cool is that? So far, i am love love loving it! The stars must have been aligned when they made it that day, it feels like a perfect les paul. Any info you guys got on the 11 special would be greatly appreciated. NHTom
Very Nice............I have one and love it. These were a GC only model. 490R neck HB3 in the bridge, both with coil split. 60's Neck Mahogany with gloss nitro........the sunburst color had a 50's style neck. I have the actual add somewhere and I'll try to post it here asap. I LOVE The HB3 in the bridge.........I find it has awesome string definition. I've asked Gibson for info but it appears to be only something in this model. Enjoy!!! NHTom

Gibson Artist
Here it is.......... NHTom Thank you So much man, this is great to know. Without knowing the specs i got it because it looked, sounded and played amazing. To me, that trumps all tiny little details, but its still good to know what you're rocking. Now, i just need to get me a Blackstar amp.

Here is his exact comment. "it's basically a BurstBucker 3. DCR Measures 8.73K. They were wound for the 2011 Gibson Les Paul Special Pro" Ps, your is lovely also! pippy
As everyone else has said that's a very sweet-looking guitar! I always did love NHTom's one. Nice to know someone else here now has one to appreciate. The 'belly-cut' is something I didn't know about before, though. Is it noticeably more comfortable than your Standard when played seated or is it unobtrusively 'in the background' as it were? Play long and in good health! Pip. rct
Those are great guitars, enjoy it for a long time to come! I had a black one, mid 90's, P-100s in it. It went out in a big trade for I don't remember what. That is one guitar I should have kept. rct
