Gibson’s tone even sweeter with a capo?

Recommended Posts

I’m just head over heals with my new J45! Classic Gibson tone but I’m wondering if I’m crazy...it seems like using a capo brings out even more character...anyone think the same?

Gosh I love this guitar!

Didn’t George Harrison play his Gibson far fretted up the neck on Here Comes the Sun? Sounded awesome!

Yep. Seventh fret for Here Comes The Sun on his sunburst J200. Although in this photo he's capo'd at five.

There have been discussions about capo's enhancing guitar tone....

After initial scepticism I'm coming round to thinking that yes they can......[thumbup]

My premium Thalia capo, IMO partly due to it's heavy weight, does seem to improve sustain somewhat....

It is also very shiny and has a splendid abalone shell insert

I don't use them as much as I use to. But, I agree they definitely change the tone.

For better or worse... is in the ears of the beholder.

In sickness and in health ,,, and in your wife's booties apparently.

yea, they do make a difference in many aspects..

As a solo acoustic performer, you almost can't "NOT" use a capo.

I use a few, Drop D, Short Cut, Double Drop D, along and in tandem with a standard capo.

Essential tools for me.

His wife’s feet must be freezing

Yeah those, I will loosely call them boots, are pretty girly.

Don't forget to capo the 3rd fret for Long Long Long
