Marky Forrest
Tomorrow is National Record Store Day so, if you have a favorite store, it might be a good time to pick up some vinyl! https://recordstoreday.com/
Riffster
After many years of trying to make it I have never been able, my wife works on Saturdays and I simply cannot drag my young kids out there to get in a line to see if I get a limited edition record. The one time i tried it was a hassle. It is hard to beat resellers...and hipsters, they will be there before you, they are so confident that they post items for auction before they have them. A couple of years ago I finally made my mind, I don't even try. No record is worth it, plenty of other old records to choose from although they are getting expensive. As for new records I buy them but know that 99% of them are not from an analog source. The market is pretty ruined IMO, at some point I'll stop buying altogether. merciful-evans
I still have all my old records at my old house. I may have to do something about that soon NRSD is a great idea. Though in the uk, vinyl albums are appearing in supermarkets.
01GT eibach
... in the uk, vinyl albums are appearing in supermarkets. Here in the U.S., too. It is VERY weird going down the bread aisle and finding vinyl versions of the Beatles "Help" and Led Zeppelin "IV".
D-28
Love vinyl but not at $30 for an album. I'll buy used.

jdgm
I still have all my old records at my old house. I may have to do something about that soon I have had good results with Discogs though you have to set up an account and pay fees on sales, but much better than ebay unless you auction the lot at once. You may have some rarities, but you have to make sure which pressing it is etc. At the moment I'm not selling much so must put up lots more. https://www.discogs.com/seller/jdgm/profile

Marky Forrest
I love vinyl. I lost my entire collection in a flood. I was out of town at the time and the people who cleaned it up took no care to preserve anything. In their opinion, it was wet, old and musty junk! I freaked out when I got home but it was too late. I lost my amp, speakers and turntable too. I was gone for two weeks and they waited far too long to start cleaning up. I do some recording now and sometimes I'll use a plugin called Vinyl that simulates the dust, scratches, warp, and mechanical noise but it's fake. There is nothing like the real thing. Riffster
Discogs was always a great way to find info on pressings, most of the time it is accurate. For selling or buying used online nothing beats eBay. Frankly, while I grew up buying vinyl and going to record stores I do not buy into the hype these days. Amazon has great prices and as a Prime member records get to my door in two days, sometimes I get the MP3 version for free even if the record does not come with a download card. I received the last Judas Priest released by 10am the day it came out, cannot beat that. I also order from ImportCDs.com since they have competitive prices and extensive selection As for most of the new bands I listen to I simply order directly from Nuclear Blast USA and Napalm Records USA. Good stuff. Now, this is something I can embrace.
