OR SERIAL + MADE IN USA + 2008??? 4. is it possibile that 2008 les paul has standard HAS GREEN TUNERS AND standard WRITENN on the truss rod cover??? IS THIS PAUL FAKE? 5. Tim Plains
1. 8.4 lbs is rather light for a weight-relieved Les Paul; so, it might be chambered. Usually,weight-relieved Les Pauls are around 9 lbs. 3. Yes, it should have the serial number across the top and "Made in the USA 2008" somewhere in the middle of the headstock. Ask the seller for pictures of the back of the headstock. 4. Yes, green tuners and "Standard" on the TRC. 5. Chambered LPs weights vary. I'd say anywhere from 7-1/2 lbs to 9 lbs. Looking at those pictures you posted, it's a real Gibson. You have the serial number. What you should do is email that number to Gibson and ask them to tell you what type of guitar it is. If they say it's anything but a Desertburst Standard then you know you're getting ripped off.
LPguitarman
Nice LP. My chambered Les Paul is very comfortable. Definitely the way to go if you have weight concerns. Adds a little acoustic to the tone also. Sounds Great.

Bluemoon
You should feel pretty comfortable. If this was a fake, there is no way the seller would have taken so many close-up photos.
