West Coast Wildfires

It's 2:56 pm and right now in Sacramento California it looks like it is twilight.

It's been dark all day. A thick haze is covering up the sun and all the blue sky.

If you are living anywhere in California you are probably being affected by these devastating fires.

We have been smelling the smoke for days as well. You can feel it in your eyes too.

Let's send our prayers out to the folks who need them.

I hope nobody here on the forum is having their home or family destroyed by this.

I live a few hundred miles from the fires. So I should have no worries.

But it is impossible to not have all those other unfortunate folks on my mind

when the evidence of what is happening is all over the news,

and in my nose and eyes. [unsure]

Hope they get this huge one out soon.

I'm praying for those who need it. :(

Yeah, that's a pretty awful fire. A lot of people lost their homes. It makes me kind of nervous in general, having just bought this home up in the Idaho panhandle....

.

But the view is spectacular....

Hey Cougar, that is a beautiful home you have there.

And that is an absolutely gorgeous view.

I am so envious! [thumbup]

But you're right. If those woods around your house catch on fire,

you better high tail it out there somethin' quick! :)

Thanks, Brad. That's just part of a great big glacial lake - Pend Oreille.

Right you are. The road out runs along the side of the hill, then I'm down off the mountain to the marina pretty quick. But, I mean, lightning is pretty random....

I shudder at the news of the fires going on....

By best friend's lead singer lost his home Friday. Last I heard the fire had shifted directions and was baring down on another home he owns where he's staying with his son.

Say a prayer for Northern California and the people of Redding, Shasta, and Nampa counties.

They could use a miracle right about now. I'm talking a deluge of rain.

I am originally from Northern California, and went to school at UC Davis. I live in Colorado now, and we (in the last few weeks) went through our own fire crises a few weeks ago too. The rains have put our fires out, while the California fires have not benefited from the same moisture.

Our prayers are with you.
