bayoubengal1954
I feel so much like the guy who arrives late to the party. It will just be five years for me next month. Good to hang with y’all.
E-minor7
I think Roger McNamee should buy Gibson. He is a hedge fund guy. He plays with his band MoonAlice all the time. San Fran area. Elevation Partners. U2's Bono is one of his partners. He should buy Gibson. Great guy. Perfect guy. And I'll be CEO if he hires me. EM you be creative director. Grunt... co head. Murph... you are head of security. Anyone comes at me, bounce their azz. red333 you are in Charge of the website and videos. Hog is in charge of models... to keep it traditional. Plus he has the merchandise. Keith Walker... you write a catchy Gibson Jingle and sing it. Oh... and we need one guy... for whenever GuitarLight buys a Gibson... to make sure that there are a few extra glue drops on the bracing near the soundhole. Wait... I don't know how to be a CEO. Ok Fugg it. Count me in, , , I'll immediately hire 62burst and father_ of_ pearl as right and left hand. We will specialize in everything between the rarest specialities and plain workhorse territory. burst as a specialist in bursts (especially from 1962) and f_o_p as a keen connoisseur of glaze'n'nectar (with EuroAussie as a qualified reserve). And may I suggest tbpii as museum-department-manager, wish Buc McMaster luck as master-tester and designate 45nick, onewilyfool not to mention Anthony Buckeridge as some kind of back-check-secu-net-operators. Personally I will focus on custom guards and tr-covers - plus names for new models such as Humminghawk, Turtledove and the long awaited Eastern Jumbo (which in natural finish will be called Western ditto). drathbun
As you mentioned GillianGirl in your post, I thought I'd post a photo of her playing her Gibson "Magic". I did an LR Baggs iMix install on this guitar.
MissouriPicker
Sure would be nice to see GillianGirl in her again. Only knew her from here, but she was a very likable and easy-going person. Great attitude about things. Fits in very well with this group.........GuitarLight? Forgot all about him. Don't know where his attitude would fit....... Lots of bad things about the internet, but once-in-a-while you stumble into a place that has it's share of nice human beings: the people in here and GillianGirl. MR GIBS
I've been here since almost ten years. I live in Bulgaria/East Europe - a place where the acoustic guitars are sneeringly called "hollows"... So ten years ago I knew almost nothing about the real all solid wood acoustic guitars. Now I know much better and have a bunch of them... With a hand on the heart I say that most of the knowledge I gained comes from this forum. Thank you, friends. livemusic
Murph's post made me curious. 10 3/4 years for me, and 3271 posts (about .8 per day, and about half on the Epiphone forums). Time flies, but my playing doesn't get any better. Red 333 I resemble that last remark! This is a unique forum. Pretty laid back, yep. I find some good info here, enjoy the people. And I love Gibsons lol.

J185cat
I also was a member of the original forum and due to low post numbers was about to nominate myself as the official site "lurker" but Vates has got me beat. Now up to 39! Really enjoy this site and all the knowledge and conversation. Also to my point of view any day there is a Hogeye post is a good day. Never fails to get the site talking. All take care and keep posting.
rustystrings
10 3/4 years since I joined, but I lurked for about a year or so before joining, devouring every scrap of information I could find on the then current J-45s. Now I come trawling for info on the LG-2 American Eagle ...
kelly campbell
The only person I can think of would be Sal. Ha Ha Sal...poor guy gets dragged into everything. Good thing he is a great sport. I too have been here for about 6 years and hope they do not mess with this forum at all. I love the civility that is shown to one another here.
