Red 333 136 Report post Posted September 8, 2018 Gibson has been advertising for a CEO. I believe Henry stepping aside for a new CEO is part of the bankruptcy restructuring agreement. He will still be an owner. Red
Boyd 76 Report post Posted September 8, 2018 https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/gibson-drops-new-guitars-ceo-amid-financial-mess-719342/ "As part of that reform plan, Juszkiewicz, who has headed up Gibson since the Eighties, left the company, leaving them on the lookout for a new leader." This part doesn't sound very encouraging.... Gibson’s new CEO will ideally have a background in major consumer products, digital engagement and e-commerce, as well as “experience in acquiring and integrating complementary businesses.” Music industry experience is preferred, but not required. merseybeat1963 25 Report post Posted September 10, 2018 Will they hire someone who hasn't the foggiest idea? Pure cut and dried "business" ain't gonna work here..these are professional musical instruments we are talking about here. The raid that niked all that wood really did them in man. When your own gov. nearly brings down without thought its own historic legacy you gotta wonder in who's interest's they are working for. fortyearspickn 411 Report post Posted September 10, 2018 Yep. A well-planned, strategic strike. Eliminate all of a companies key raw material, which is extremely difficult to replace - sort of like "Attempted Murder". Henry did all to recover from that. but, of course, they were already too heavily in debt.
AngelDeVille 132 Report post Posted September 11, 2018 How many J-45 models does Gibson have? There were 3 when I bought mine new in 1999.... Haven’t looked at them since, or needed another since then.
