MCK
Hi, Today I did something stupid. I was charging my DF and when it was all ready I simply unplugged the TRS cable from the blackbox without first powering it off. The box made a repeated relay crackle. Sort of like the old buzzer sound. And the blue light went out. Normally the blue light is on even when the TRS is not plugged in. So my heart sank. I thought for sure I fried something in there. Well, good news. After a power cycle, blue light came back on and unit is still able to charge. So I take this as a warning and will always power off from now on. Not sure if this is something I should not worry about but not knowing the circuitry in there thought one might want to be cautious than sorry. Hope this helps avoid problems for others too. photonutalan1
Good save, MCK! Thanks for the cautionary warning; I'm glad no permanent damage was done!
MCK
Thanks. I wouldn't mind buying a new one but none is on sale as spares yet. So for a brief few seconds until I saw that blue light shine, I thought my DF will be a regular guitar for a few months once the charge runs... Sobering thought.
