charlie brown 775 Report post Posted October 8, 2018 Hi Guys, Well, I just discovered, this evening, that the multi-ply binding, on the pickguard on my Gibson "Lucille" has detached, entirely. Upon inspection, it looked to have had very little "glue" or adhesive used, in it's initial manufacture. I live out in the "Sticks," and it's a 3 hour drive, to the nearest dealer, in OKC. So, I'm hoping you can send me a replacement, ASAP? Sincerely, Charles E. Brown (Forum member "CB")

charlie brown 775 Report post Posted October 9, 2018 StewMac has binding adhesive. Well, it may come to that, if I don't get any response from Gibson Customer Service, or the Repair/Restoration folks? The binding adhesive strips, would be OK, but the binding glue sounds problematic, for "Plastic on Plastic" as needed for my pickguard, as opposed to plastic on wood. But, being a complete novice, at this, it might be "just fine?" Thanks, for the suggestion(s)! Cheers, CB
retrorod 93 Report post Posted October 9, 2018 Weld On #16 plexiglass glue has been recommended. Since the binding is already bent to shape, it may go rather easy!? Or, send it to a repair facility /luthier in OKC Good Luck!
charlie brown 775 Report post Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) Well, seems Gibson will replace it, under Warrantee! So, I should get the replacement, in a few days! I'm thankful, too...as upon further inspection, the binding on the original is cracked, in several places, as well. I didn't notice that, at first. Anyway, All's Well, That Ends Well!
