J185 maple

Hello everyone, recently acquired a J185. wondering about what strings ya'll would recommend for it. J185EC Maple.

I use 80/20 medium-lights. Most others probably go with mediums. (On my mahogany guitars I'll use phophor bronze)

I have a J180 (basically a non-cutaway J185 with the big double Everly Bros pickguards) which sounds fantastic with D’Addario EXP 13-56 80/20 strings. I use ‘em on my Maple AJ too, great strings for Maple instruments.

I've been using D'addario EXP 16's phosphor bronze on mine pretty happy with them.

I use Gibson PHos.Bronze strings .

Phosphor bronze medium on my j185

I have a J180 called "Billie Joe Armstrong"

Have tried several brand strings and it sounds better to my ear with Elixir 12/53 Ph Br.

And the last long...

DR Sunbeams and Elixir PB's work the best on my maple Dove and J-150, im certain they also would work great on your maple J-185
