j45nick
Woah, what a beautiful guitar! That finish combined with the glorious headstock is heart-leapingly gorgeous. Congrats on the new baby! It's amusing how similar that headstock is to the custom headstock we did on my J-45 more than 45 years ago. You can see it in my avatar. 62burst
Well, sometimes we who ask for a clip of an ngd post get one, but few would've expected a clip as nice as that. Thanks for posting. Don't know if you had to transpose keys for the vocals, but great job getting and holding on to those notes.
play4him
Very nice ! I really like that burst.
jjrpilot
That is gorgeous!!! Congrats!!! Great recording as well! Man there’s a reason why the J45 is known as the “workhorse” it really does compliment vocals so well. May it bring you years of musical joy! Think it sounds great now just give it a few years, then 5, then 10+ years!!!

I played it in E, which I believe is a step down for the original. It's a great song and harder to play than it might seem at first. The chord patterns are almost random at times, but I love the way it's composed.

Col Mustard
I think I found my holy grail guitar today. Backstory: I’ve been a working musician for 30+ years but I’ve recently had some success with tech videos on YouTube. I promised myself I would buy myself a great guitar if I ever made real money with my creative stuff. Well, as of today, I did. I’d been shopping around for a while, thinking about a Martin d-18 or d-28 or a J-45. I couldn’t find anything I really loved but this morning I was looking through the mail and saw the Gibson had released a GC exclusive J-45 Walnut just yesterday. I looked online and my store had it in stock so I went to check it out. No one know what I was talking about, so I had to explain 3 times before they found it in the back, still in it’s shipping box. I was the first to play the thing. Looks great, smells great, plays amazing. I walked out an hour later with the guitar and I’m still pinching myself. I didn’t think I’d like the honey burst finish but it looks a lot better in person. As I was checking out the manager told me that this guitar was a limited edition to the point that that GC would not be getting another one. It’s a beautiful, special guitar but not so fancy that I feel like it isn’t a J-45. I couldn’t be happier, until the sticker shock sinks in. Congratulations, excellent choice. I recently bought a 2018 J-45 AG and love everything about it. Mine's got a plain spruce top, and is more ordinary looking. Yours really stands out as the unique instrument that it is. Dave F
I just played one of these at GC today. The inlays look like the Jackson Browne and Stage Deluxe RW. Headstock looks like an L5. I like it. If I catch a good sale, I'll grab it. Edited December 5, 2018 by Dave F

SkaneatelesLake
Love your video and playing of "Thunder Road"! Really well done. I just bought the last one of these available in America. I couldn't pass up these beauties. I can't find out how many were made. I read somewhere that only 100 were made and limited to one per store. I can't find where I saw that. Yours is a beauty!
