G Mac
Jimi is/was such an intense musician that I can only listen to him every few years. I just get overwhelmed by his genius, his tone, and his endless creativity. When I was a young boy, 'bout the age of five, I used to hear Jimi floating out of my brother's room and wonder, "What the Hell is that?!". Many years later, I began to listen and try to learn. After all these years, I'm still asking the same question! There are really only a few musicians throughout time that are on that level...J.S. Bach, Wolfgang Mozart, John Coltrane, John McLaughlin; that type of player and composer. I realize that some will disagree so, I offer only my own opinion. Both Jimi and my brother are gone but, I will always love, respect, and cherish their time here.
Dennis G
Whether true nor not, I read years ago, that at one of Jimi's first London shows, no less that Clapton, Harrison, et al were in the audience, and after the show they basically said to each other "Holy $hit, we better find something else to do". High Praise indeed, if true. RIP Jimi, sorry you were a member of the "27 Club".

They obviously weren't gonna stop playing, but they were apparantly quite... taken a back. Small wonder. I'm still stunned by his playing and songwriting decades and decades on. MichaelT
Hendrix changed the way electric guitar was played. He was so over the top and so innovative on so many levels.
