zigzag
Sorry if this has been posted before, but for days now, it has been announced that Gibson is closing the Memphis production facility and moving it to Nashville. Employees have been asked to relocate. Article

kidblast
Employees have been asked to relocate. "asked" is an interesting word! when it comes down to it, you either go, or you don't. at least it's in the same state... we've had relocation offers that have been in different countries... merciful-evans
At 212 miles its hardly commuting distance. Very difficult for those in Memphis.

01GT eibach
At 212 miles its hardly commuting distance. Very difficult for those in Memphis. Move to Nashville? Or find a new job? Tough decisions. Many of us have been there...
zigzag
The reason I posted this was primarily to discuss what this move means to the Gibson Guitars business model. Do they plan to produce fewer and charge more?... move some production off shore?... reduce product line?... drop hollow bodies?... expand capacity in Nashville?
