casbah2
hi, can anyone tell me if Gibson Dove 1970 is a good guitar, the sound etc. Thanks
Rosewoody
1970 is not Gibson's finest year. Typically overbraced, but some from that generation can be very nice indeed.
rar
Welcome! Most people think that 1970 Gibson Doves (and other 1970 Gibson acoustics) aren't very good, mostly because they are very heavily braced, which makes them somewhat dead-sounding, and because the necks are too narrow. But some people love the sound -- of some of them, at least -- and the playability. If you have a particular one that you're interested in, you need to hear it and play it and then decide for yourself whether it's good. You can find out more about this model here, on Wikipedia. -- Bob R

'77 Gibson Hummingbird Must have been a rare one because I bought a brand new Hummingbird in 1977 and it sounded like it was filled with chewing gum.
