Seahawk
So, purchased a 2018 Tribute back in May and recently it has been cutting out (sounds like a guitar cord plugged into the amp while touching the other end with your hand). I replaced the cord, tried a different amp head and other guitars to narrow it down to the output jack. I contacted Jon in customer service via email and BAM! A new jack with the quick connection attached was sent out. Awesome service! Also with the PCB board no soldering involved (my first Les paul to scared to try) Thank you Gibson support Jeff

Seahawk
Cool. Soldering is easy. If your gonna own electrics you better learn how. I can sweat pipe like nobodys brother (union plumber for over 30+) but electronics scare me. my hands aren't as steady and my eyesight well lets say if ya know who Mr. Magoo is you know what my eyesight is like. I've owned guitars for 43 years now starting with a hondo or seville (i can't remember) flying V copy. I typically took them in for repairs / pickup swaps. This is my first Les Paul (was an Ibanez RG, Jackson Soloist, Charvel model 6 kinda guy) and I love it

I usually take mine to people who know what they're doing if they need electronics repairs or fret work. Neck adjustment, bridge, tailpiece, intonation and all that is no problem. I just prefer to have a professional work on the things I could potentially screw up badly. If I had the proper tools or work area, I could probably do it but that's just not my thing. badbluesplayer
Yeah - If you can sweat pipe you won't have any problems soldering electronics stuff. Just... um... don't use a torch. NighthawkChris
as soon as i saw the thread title, i KNEW it wasn't about guitar center. haha! Yeah, you don't say... Can't help myself to avoid a good jab at the abomination we like to call GC. I have known friends in my younger days that have worked there and I know what kind of support you get these days at this company as a whole. Trust me, it is not a good place for a career and I will forever boycott. I am lucky that I have a pretty good guitar store near me that I have diverted all my wants and needs towards and taking away from potential GC sales, because this place sells absolute crap percentage-wise, spams customers endlessly like all big greedy corporations, and honestly, the stores are depressing to walk into. No one there actually cares about making a good relationship with a customer - even if you have spent thousands to fund their paychecks. Once you have people there who don't care about the people who fund your paycheck, that tells me that they don't like their job. Gee... I wonder why... F*** GC.
