jedzep
Can't wait for BK to put down the Matons, pick up his LG3 and come back to the party. Don't know about you guys, but I like talking about guitars, period. He's a valued contributor. I somehow missed his parting shot, if there was one. bobouz
I somehow missed his parting shot, if there was one. Aside from a post in the current thread re the passing of OWF, his most recent posts were in a thread that was removed from the boards by a moderator. He and Euro Aussie were trading insults re Matons, when Hogeye (the guy who says he never personally attacks forum members), leveled a typically unnecessary & highly personal assault on BK777. Shortly thereafter, the thread was gone.

uncle fester
BK was posting a lot of Maton stuff, and him and EA went back and forth, Hogeye weighed in his typical fashion, but there were a fair amount of others who piled on. The general theme I took away is this is not a general guitar forum, but a Gibson forum, so the occasional tangent is fine, but remember the house your in and what you're talking about... and there's only so much tolerance when you veer away from the norm. I miss BK, his posts and his music. IMO, the forum is less entertaining as a result. When you think about it, we may be all over the world, but truly it's a small community and there's only so many of us enthusiasts out there. When we lose the input of someone like BK, it's disappointing.
rct
The Acoustic Forum has always been a model of internet understanding of others. lolz rct

Agree with you on Bk he contributed quite a lot and was a very pleasant guy any time I discussed things with him. I wish he would come back. don't agree on the second part, (but remember the house your in and what you're talking about...) I think that is pure BS, there is nothing in the forum rules that says anything about this. It's a fabrication by some of the members. Sad really, this place used to be my favorite forum, it's getting more like the Fender Forum everyday. (Intolerant and at times, hostile) I'm here less and less these days,, soon I expect I will just occasionally visit then not at all. and know what, I won't make a fuss about it either with some elaborate departure post, just be gone, and no one will care,, and that's fine. really, it's a shame.. kelly campbell
I agree that we should be able to discuss other brands with civility..just my opinion. I enjoy BK s posts and unique playing and singing.

There was no "fair amount of others who piled on" in the thread I'm referring to, which I'm guessing few people saw before it quickly devolved & was removed. There was another long-winded thread that covered similar territory, and I believe it is still up on the board. Posts about non-Gibsons on this board are fine in my book, especially since these typically are made by Gibson players and offer comparative insights. I would only say that if there is no Gibson content, such posts would seem to be most appropriately placed in The Lounge, since it is primarily intended for a wide berth of topics & general discussions. jedzep
Yeah...we shouldn't take ourselves so seriously...ever. Unless playing guitar is your business, it's more or less just a hobby.
