LPguitarman
Although I don't own this many guitars, this would be my answer: (1) Gibson Les Paul. (1) Gibson ESxxx for the hollow body tone. (1) Fender Stratocaster. (1) Fender Telecaster. (1) Jackson "shreader" with Floyd Rose. (1) 12-String Electric. Probably a Gibson Double Neck. (1) 6-String Acoustic. (1) 12-String Acoustic. (1) Classical Nylon String Acoustic. I think that just about covers it.
uncle fester
Judging strictly by my experience, the answer is apparently: 7 solid body electrics 1 ancient acoustic guitar 3 acoustic electric six strings 1 acoustic electric 12-string 2 solid body electric bass guitars 1 ukulele and, 1 3-string cigar box guitar But I'm still craving one more solid body electric. Throw a mandolin in, and I'd agree with this list.

brc
I was up to 52, but sold around 30/31 ( not quite sure) do to the fact I am unable to play any longer due to my left hand, so even though I can’t play any more, I still have around 20 or so. People who don’t play really don’t understand, that even the same make, model of guitars, they still play and or sound differently. I say go for it, and buy what you can , while you can. It’s only money, and that comes and goes for every one.
