I have retired

I used to have "several" guitars, PA systems, and amps. But I moved to Florida from Alaska, and shipping costs would have been astronomical. So I downsized. I now have two acoustic guitars, no electrics, some mics and a small PA system in case I need to get louder for something.

My acoustics are a 1973 Cherry Sunburst Hummingbird, and a Fender Catalina dressed all in black, but I hardly ever play the Fender any more, because after I got used to the fat sound of the HB, the Catalina just sounds too thin. These are what I call "First World Problems", since I can remember losing instruments and amps to the "evil" pawnshop back in the day. But this Gibson...it was my dream guitar. It still is, and I look at the wall in my living room and just smile every single morning when I see it. :)

Isn't that cool when you just look at your guitar and feel fortunate just to have it? (Even moreso when you play it!) I have three of those - two 12s and a 6-string. msp_thumbup.gif

I'm getting close to retirement. I have a large room in this big old house that's dedicated to music/computer/library/office. I'm considering one final move to some land I own and will eventually have to downsize. This is just one part of it, there's more.

I'll be keeping all of the Bose stuff !

Ha! You're going to have your work cut out for you. We plan on moving up to our Idaho place in a year or so. We've already hauled a bunch of stuff up there, storing it in the oversized "shop." Clever as she is, Mrs. Cougar is still going through old crap, tossing some, packing some up for our next trip, way ahead of time. I recommend starting the "packing" early (not so much the musical stuff, but all the other stuff!). Otherwise, you'll likely be totally overwhelmed!

Retirement's great, BTW. msp_thumbup.gif

Welcome to the forum Tekboy...Nice HB I too have one and enjoy it like all the guitars I have. Alaska to FL humm interesting.

Yeah...I have always been somewhat extreme, I guess. Thanks. This guitar has some bumps and bruises, but the tone is amazing, and it plays as true as any guitar I have ever encountered. Certainly a keeper.
