G Mac
Happy Birthday to Muddy Waters; an icon of the blues! Muddy's impact on electric blues cannot be overstated. His songs are staples of the blues repertoire..."Hootchie Kootchie Man", "Mannish Boy", "Champagne and Reefer", and so many others. Here is a selection that features his slide playing as well as his unparalleled singing. Ooohhh, Yeah...Whoo! That stingin' slide!

Tman
I saw him in 1979 with Eric Clapton. I didn't realize way back then how significant it really was. And it was amazing.
uncle fester
Loving Muddy Water's lately. He comes up in one of the pandora channels I listen to - love pandora, makes listening to these folks possible to really get an understanding of who they were, what they did (not to derail the thread, but liking Howling Wolf as well). good stuff! saturn
I knew I recognized that name! Muddy Waters is my favorite of the old blues guys. He has the coolest sounding voice IMO. I really love the album I'm Ready, produced by Johnny Winter who also plays guitar on it. Lot's of other great players too.
Mr. Natural
Loving Muddy Water's lately...(not to derail the thread, but liking Howling Wolf as well). good stuff! ...Muddy Waters is my favorite of the old blues guys.... Wolf and Muddy are my two favorite "old, dead, black guys" (as my ex-wife used to call most of the musicians in my CD/LP collection).
