I still have my first Fender Telecaster and now I think I want this new one!

Wait til I show the Better Half - she actually said I should keep my old Tele when I was gonna flog it...history or something...

I tell you though, I never dreamed of this new thing or what it does. Who knew, eh?

Even though I like black guitars, I think I want a Custom Shop model in Lake Placid Blue....

I just can't get this idea past the bones in my forehead.

The last ones they did like this were horrible, I don't suspect these will be much better, but hey, I've been wrong on several occasions.

To each his own I guess, but not fer moi..

And the dorks at Andertons jamming:

That Anderton's demo is superb, and really shows off what the system can do. I call it a "system", because it really is a guitar with no soul of its own. All it can do is mimic other guitars. Sort of guitar artificial intelligence.

With the imaging software/hardware, you might as well be playing a plank. It's something Les Paul would have come up with 65 years ago of the technology had been around.

It would be a good gigging arrangement, except that the typical bar audience would have no idea what you were doing, or what they were listening to.

It's interesting, but certainly not my cuppa tea.

I was thinking how handy it would be when I was in a band......I used to take a Strat, a Tele and an acoustic. (Lead guitarist with Strat in standard tuning, Tele in Open E for slide and acoustic in standard for a solo acoustic set.) First off I mic’d the various acoustics, PITA so bought acoustic electrics which were easier live, but sounded ordinary, possibly terrible some nights.

Now this Tele has a new system by Fishman based on the Aura for the acoustica. I have my D18 with inbuilt Aura (F1) and it is absolutely delightful plugged direct to a PA. I prefer that sound to using an amp. Best on Show. I don’t think the electric pickup in this new Tele would sound much good direct to a PA, but the ‘blend’ thing could do it.

Yes, I would take one guitar, no amp, probably with new Boss wireless. Ha! Acoustic bits and electric bits and all between! Cool. The only thing easier equipment wise would be to play harmonica. [mellow] though if I wanted to play slide in Open tuning, I would end up with an extra guitar. Oh no, 2 guitars to carry again. Memories of sadist club owner gleefully telling us we were moved from the front main venue to the top floor function room because of......he liked it, don’t know...
