No, I saw them in Santa Cruz at the Civic Center. Patrick Simmons of the Doobies came on stage and sang Ridin' High, I know they are local boys, and they brought out a mannequin to sing Crank It Up. Well it just stood there. Great show. Mark O'Connor was on fiddle at the time. I almost lost my lunch when I saw Rod Morgenstine in Winger on MTV. I lived in SJ from '68 - '87. Then back in the Bay Area from '94 - '00. I got that album on vinyl. Those guys were so good. They threw everything into the mix.

I thought the Dixie Dregs and Morse were from Georgia. [confused]

They are. Patrick Simmons and Doobies were from Santa Cruz.

I got dragged to that '82 Dregs show, and was only vaguely familiar with the name 'Dixie Dregs'. The dudes that dragged said they were like Lynyrd Skynyd. Ummm, no they are not. We were fifth row center. We just kept looking at each other saying "Who are these dudes???". It was one of the best shows I ever saw especially considering I/we had no idea what to even expect.
