Forgotten guitar solos.

I know we were talking about forgotten guitar solos earlier in the month but this one has just come to mind.

Connie Frances sang Lipstick On Your Collar in the fifties. A silly song but given status by the wonderful guitar break played by George Barnes. It's on You Tube, give it a spin.

The solo I did at 13 years old. msp_flapper.gif Haha, Well? I figured since no one responded I might as well. msp_biggrin.gif It's been long forgotten. msp_confused.gif

Yes, I remember that song well. They played it a lot back then. I was 6 when it was released.

I was 14, there was some good guitar breaks in the Rock n Roll days largely forgotten. The one in Bill Halley's Rock Around the Clock was good too. I met his grandson who told me that his grandfather died soon after in a tragic accident falling down some stairs I believe, he was only in his twenties. Of course these were the days before Rock Gods and all the electric effects, I would think most of us would be pushed to name any Scoty Moore perhaps, James Burton..

Franny (Frank) Beecher I believe.

He lived to be 92....had played for Benny Goodman previously which I didn't know -

On the Rock Around the Clock recording session I think Frank Beecher was playing guitar but the solo was played by Danny Cedrone

Many thanks - you are of course quite right - and he IS the guy who fell down some stairs 10 days later and broke his neck. Beecher then took his place as a permanent band member.

Good call!
