MorrisrownSal Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Hey guys. Rain and rain and rain here. Pretty sad day all around, so a sad song this evening. This is a Sara Bareilles song. Two guitar tracks (Martin 000-28) two vocal tracks. Pretty simple recording setup. Little reverb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS1758d_sUA
G Mac Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 That's a very good job, ThemisSal! Keep up the good work!
blindboygrunt Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 You just get better and better Guitars lovely too by the way
BluesKing777 Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 That sounds nice! Clean! Is that a ‘re-imagined’ 000-28? It caught my eye ‘cos I have a few books from Kenny Sultan and I think he owned ALL the original droolworthy shade tops 18 and 28 until he sold most recently. So I thought you had bought one...... even so, the shade top would be a custom order? BluesKing777.
MorrisrownSal Posted April 27, 2019 Author Posted April 27, 2019 Thanks gMac and Grunt... BK, is is a Reimagined 000-28SB (sunburst). They make these, and amber tone, and the blonde. I do love it. It’s got the herringbone trim, and a few other aesthetic upgrades over the prior model. They forward shifted the bracing, so this is more like the Clapton models internally. I played about a dozen of these before I bought, and moved back and forth between these and the 0000s. Love this model... neck, short scale, looks, and sound. The sound doesn’t slap you OMG at first. But it warms up with a lot of play. I think with a few years of age and play, this may one day be my one and only... so I do like it. Vince Gil has a few of those original shade tops. He pulled one out in that video here (Musician’s Friend?). Those are ..... expensive. Like Porsche expensive.
BluesKing777 Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Thought ya must have dropped the Porsche........ And I thought you only liked dreds? Kenny had a row of 000-18 shadetops and Martin had a Kenny Sultan sig model, but that was in the days when the standard models were boats....probably like a re-imagined 000-18 now but bigger neck. A cd came with this music book I got years ago and the 000-18 sounds pretty......sensational! Bad influence, better bin it. Caused me to get my OM-18 Authentic years back. BluesKing777.
uncle fester Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Good stuff TSal - you are a master harmonizer!
AnneS Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Truly lovely, Sal. You have developed a magical touch, not only in interpreting a song, but in all the many decisions you make to polish it up. Splendid.
kelly campbell Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Beautiful song very well done Sal..Thanks for sharing it.
EuroAussie Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 You just get better and better Guitars lovely too by the way I agree. Getting real strong in all respects, especially the harmonies and production quality. Dont know the song but it sounds like the kind of song that Anne would write and sing.
littlejohnny Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 i was expecting the Green Day song, when I read the thread title ...but this one makes actually more sense
MorrisrownSal Posted April 30, 2019 Author Posted April 30, 2019 Hey thanks all of you. meant a lot. peace
MissouriPicker Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 Good stuff, Sal. Never heard this song before. It truly is a rainy day song and your rendition of it is perfect for this kind of weather. Thanks for the smiles. [thumbup]

A few years ago I bought a used 000-28EC with a K&K in it. I liked it a lot but I did not like the wear and tear on it. I don't mind wear and tear on a vintage guitars but not on newer guitars, that's just me Since then I picked up a 000-28EC SB and a 0000-28 Koa
MorrisrownSal Posted May 6, 2019 Author Posted May 6, 2019 Dave what does koa sound like? Hog top? Stunning. I owned an M21 Steve Earle. One of the best guitars I ever played. Ps and also have three dogs. Have to ask...is that a Wheaton Terrier behind the koa?
BluesKing777 Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 Photo opp? Check this old photo, not as pristine now, but sounds even better than the day I opened the case.... The game changer! Martin OM18 Authentic! (Not sure if they still make them, but if you see one, try it). BluesKing777.
