What pickup system to swap for Element?

Hi All,

New to the forum here, been lurking for a bit but I’m not seeing an answer to my search right now.

I’ve got a new J-45 Montana Avante Garde with an Element pick up in it. This guitar is proving to be on the brighter side of things so I’m wanting to warm it up a bit and have a bit of tonal control when I’m plugged in. I play a lot for church settings where it’s 15-1000 people settings.

I have been doing a decent amount of research on what’s out there, everything from Fishman to Trance Audio to upgrade this portion of the guitar. I am wanting something with more than a volume knob and would like to avoid the pairing with an external DI at this point. I don’t think I’m ready to go down on the hill of always being able to just reproduce-my-acoustic-with-no alterations hill, but rather to have something that lets the instrument shine and gives me some flexibility on-board.

The contenders that stand out to me right now are:

- L.R. Bagg’s Anthem or Anthem SL

- Trance Audio’s Dual System (this one seems tricky to nail the right placement on the install, even for veterans)

- Fishman’s Infinity

- Maybe K&K’s Infinity system (I just can’t quite tell how if it works for on-the-fly adjustment)

I am open to other options. Don’t know what I don’t know right now. Spending a few hundred $$$ doesn’t scare me if I can get the right setup and have someone qualified put it in if I couldn’t.

Thoughts or recommendations?
