RichCI
Once they start making pure nickel' date=' I'll give them a shot.[/quote'] Fair enough. If want pure nickel or all steel, they're not going to be what you want. But, if you like nickel wrapped steel, they're the shiznitz.

RichCI
D'Addario nickel wrapped steel: $4.99 WebStrings nickel wrapped steel: $2.99 (or, buy in bulk for $2.49 and free shipping). No contest.
AXE®
If you wear through the nickle to the steel on the strings... You're not changing them often enough... I find it highly unlikely a hobbyist player would have to worry about a refret unless they play 10 hrs a day every day at home . HARD !!!

Tim Plains
Pure nickel just sounds better to my ears, for the most part...not so great on my Custom. ninety1vee, right now I'm using Fender pure nickel strings and they're pretty good. So far, I've only used Gibson Vintage Reissue and Fender pure nickel strings. I find it highly unlikely a hobbyist player would have to worry about a refret unless they play 10 hrs a day every day at home . What about a hobbyist with 10 guitars??
