The Letter

Hey All - Determined not to let a little set back slow my progress, I am jumping in with both feet and doing 'The Letter' at an open mic later this week. I have simplified, slowed down, and practiced, practiced, practiced... I then recorded and listened, tried to pick out bad spots, and practiced some more. I liked what I heard, but understanding my barometer is suspect at best I figure I should go in with a protection plan...

Open Mic Success Enabler and Injury Prevention Plan:

1) Negotiate a time slot a little later in the evening, and preferably after the 80s soft rock guy (anything after 'tainted love' sounds good)

2) Get my friends into a drinking contest before I go on (with each other, I will abstain)

3) Wear appropriate gear to stem off projectiles (see below)

Regardless, I would have gone big with what I had, I believe where I'm at is better now - so appreciate all the feedback and fingers crossed :)

Be good to hear the new version bill ... ?

More measured and in sync, but feel it's missing a little life - thinking on it, but here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP3eD3xBU5s&feature=youtu.be

Bill I think It would be better just to sit behind a chicken wire fence ie blues brothers lol. That is what I personally would do if I were up there playing.

Lol - was that Blues Brothers or Animal House, made me laugh and did make me think of that! Anyone out there ever play behind a fence for your protection... BK - how about you, w/ all those gigs with Melbourne HA.. or Murph in your many excursions?!?

...it aint easy..

...being us...

John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as "Joliet" Jake and Elwood Blues. Hey at least you and I would't get thirsty with all the beer coming our way.

They were always on their very best behaviour, Billroy, or they wouldn't get any bands for future concerts.

But some of the dump hotels/bars I played in a band at, well, I can imagine a video with me playing "Helpless' as the place gets smashed....

Nope, now that I think about it, nothing would get me back to those bars without a fully armed security detail.

Good luck with The Letter, though!
