i just ordered my first gibson of the internet, its a les paul standard and i noticed a couple if things of the bat. It seems that the screws on the truss rod cover and input jack were screwed in too tight and it caused the plastic to crack. Also the volume pot was jammed in crooked. One other thing i noticed was that the back was a solid piece of mahogany, it was two pieces glued together. Now i payed alot of money for this guitar, do i send it back?

You shouldn't live with those problems from a new guitar. Let them know your problems.

Hopefully you made this purchase with a credit card or PayPal.

So let the people know if they don't fix or replace you will dispute this with the credit

card or PayPal.

Thats too bad...I cant emphasize this enough.

Dont buy online unless you have to. Im spoiled. I have a dozen music shops within

an hour of me. I know some guys dont.

Dont let the "Special" online price fool you.

Hey Chase--

And as others have said throughout the forum in other places, if it turns out the dealer is not an Authorized Gibson dealer and this is a new guitar, then just return it and get your money back: don't take an exchange. Lots of people sell Gibsons new on the 'Net, but if they are not authorized dealers, then the guitar has no warranty. You are better off spending more (if necessary) at a Gibson dealer if you are buying new. Look up dealers from the main Gibson.com site, and you can see everyone who is considered an authorized dealer, and you will see that there are only a handful of authorized internet dealers. Everyone else is just re-selling guitars (even if they are new).

If the guitar was sold to you as used, then I would do as the people say above: return and/or dispute the charges if you paid by credit card or PayPal.

If you bought on ebay, you should first check the feedback of the user, and always, if you are in doubt, ask for serial number and give Gibson a call. But if this is genuine, and he sold it new, then i guess i will just be an echo, and say send it back!

I dont know ,I have issue with qc also, I had a studio that the volume pot was seemingly bent. But now I have a standard with issues that Gibson isnt really concerned with, although its a 2007 , but the fact that Im not the original buyer Im screwed out of any warrenty that I would otherwise have. I cant figure out why Gibson just washes their hands of a guitar after its been sold to someone else, these should be a tranferable warrentee! Ihave a 2007 standard that I bought from my friend for 2100 which he paid 2300 new. This is alot of money! I could have had 3 strats for that much, lets get it together here. I figured I would post on this forum so mabye someone from Gibson would hear this, well we'll see.:)
