zigzag
Dr. Dr. John. Rest in peace and music, Brother Mac.
merciful-evans
I've just heard on the radio https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/jun/06/dr-john-new-orleans-musician-dead I heard his first album Gris Gris in 1968. I was 16 and I could not handle the style and vocal at that time. I would eventually collect everything he did. The man was a true original & genius. jdgm
R.I.P. to a great original. We will never see his like again.
Mr. Natural
He was a good'un. I got to see him in Dallas at a blues festival in '90 or '91. RIP.
Tekboy
I think he is in the Right Place now. I listened to Mac a whole lot back in the day. What a talent, and a musician obviously comfortable in his own skin.

jdgm
I've just been reading tributes, bio-s and so on again and looking at his discography. I have a few things including "Night Tripper" on vinyl, but he made many albums and his sessionography is even bigger. I actually saw him in England in 1970 on a rainy Sunday night outdoors at the Bath Festival. He seems to have known everybody, and been in the right place at the right time on a huge number of classic sessions. He had his own personal sound, a very distinctive gumbo stew distilled over many years which reached way back to before the beginnings of rock. A perfect description is a phrase Sparquelito coined a couple of years back about his Gibson LP, which has stuck in my mind since..... Swampy Mojo. 🎩💀
