The Problem with Socialism...

Woops! It looks like the farm subsidies were a product of the democratic congresses of 1933 and 1949 where the democrats had a fillibuster proof majority in both houses of congress and democratic presidents...who'da thunk it?

The Agricultural Adjustment Act (Pub.L. 73-10, enacted May 12, 1933) restricted production during the New Deal by paying farmers to reduce crop area. Its purpose was to reduce crop surplus so as to effectively raise the value of crops, thereby giving farmers relative stability again. The farmers were paid subsidies by the federal government for leaving some of their fields unused. The Act created a new agency, the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, to oversee the distribution of the subsidies. It is considered the first modern U.S. farm bill.

The Commodity Credit Corporation, or CCC, is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture created on October 17, 1933. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt issued Executive Order 6340 the day before, which ordered the creation of the CCC as a Delaware corporation. The corporation had an original capitalization of $3,000,000, subscribed by the Secretary of Agriculture and the Governor of the Farm Credit Administration.

The Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) is a Government-owned and operated entity that was created to stabilize, support, and protect farm income and prices. CCC also helps maintain balanced and adequate supplies of agricultural commodities and aids in their orderly distribution.

CCC was incorporated October 17, 1933, under a Delaware charter with a capitalization of $3 million. It was initially managed and operated in close affiliation with the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, which funded its operations. On July 1, 1939, CCC was transferred to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). It was reincorporated on July 1, 1948, as a Federal corporation within USDA by the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act (62 Stat.1070; 15 U.S.C. 714).

The Agricultural Act of 1949 (Pub.L. 89-349) is a United States federal law (7 U.S.C. 1431) that is known as the "permanent legislation" of U.S. agricultural policy and is, in its amended form, still in effect. The Act was enacted on October 31, 1949. The purpose of the act is "To provide assistance to the States in the establishment, maintenance, operation, and expansion of school-lunch programs, and for other purposes."[

Okay, I'll go ahead right now and just propose this. All us conservatives are probably thinking it, anyway. I hereby nominate KSG and NeoConMan for the Republican nominees for president and vice president in 2012! I don't care which one is prez and which one is vice prez. Just run!

Here's a thought. Let's say NeoConMan runs for Prez in 2012 and 2016. Then, after the two of them have saved America and brought peace to the world, they can switch up. KSG will be Prez in 2020 and 2024 while NeoConMan can be vice prez.

This would give us 16 years of prosperity.

All I ask is that I can be in the cabinet, guys.

God bless a FREE America!

Since we're on the topic of socialism.

I want a new Les Paul. In fact, I want the '56 Goldtop.

This will no doubt stimulate my creative juices and I'll be able to put out some quality music you will no doubt want to buy.

So you guys buy me a '56 Goldtop because I'm entitled to it.

There. Socialism works for me.

16 years of prosperity.

Wouldn't THAT be nice....

Done.

Any job you want' date=' name it.

You're probably better qualified than 95% of those in DC today.

God bless a FREE America!

Indeed!

Californiaman, my administration won't be buying you a Goldtop, you're on your own.

You should be able to afford one though, if they let me call the shots.

Got a job? You can afford one. Maybe not today, but you can work and save....

I would certainly support children's involvement in the arts (except rap) and sports (except water polo).

Connects portions of their brain they would never use otherwise - to the benefit of us all.

Schools will be built like they were 50 years ago - to last for centuries with minor upgrades.

Crappy, cheap-***, overpriced school buildings that fall apart in ten years will be sold off or bulldozed.

Budgets are for essential personnel only, communities and charities could contribute anything beyond that voluntarily.

I'm honored NeoConMan. I have some very Conservative agendas I'd like to push through. I think we could do it!

Seriously though, it is one of my goals to run for some office in my state in the next couple of years. Who knows what may happen in the future. First I'll free Tennessee, then the country!

I've said for years that things will change when I'm elected.

My wife is the one saying I should actually look into it.

Neighbors, family and coworkers think I should be on the City Council already, they keep nudging me...

Anytime Tennessee comes up in politics, I have to laugh at one thing.

As close as the election was in 2000, Al Gore couldn't carry his own state.

Big hint there Al.....

LOL! You know, your story sounds like mine. My wife and neighbors are all trying to get me to go ahead and do it. But, I'm trying to carve out a niche as a writer, and I've been helping grow my wife's new business. My hands are full at the moment, but soon . . .

Maybe we could end up in one of the Houses together. Now we're talking! I believe that one man can make a difference, but two of us! And if we could get KSG. We'd have a full blown revolution on our hands.

I always tell these folks that I do believe I'd get elected ONCE. Then, because I'd try to actually lead on principles and ethics, I'd get assassinated by one of the guys on the Prayers for Barbara Bush thread. They'd hunt me down and kill me in a liberal induced fit of hate and rage!

You guys need to move to California and help straighten this place out.

Ah, California, or Granola Land as my father in law calls it. Granola land because it's full of fruits, nuts, and flakes. Except for you, Californiaman! No offense meant, my friend.

The fruiters, nut-jobs and flakes were out en mass protesting the will of the people today. How much you want to bet the 9th District Legeslature—I mean Court of Appeals, turns proposition 8 over too. Against the will of the people.

We pro-family, heterosexual relationship loving people are so intolerant. Isn't that right Sean?

Just wait, once they legislate deviant behavior the bottom's really going to drop out of this State.

I'm not photogenic or good with people' date=' can I be Secretary of State?[/quote']

Even on your worst day, I bet you look sexier than the current sec of state!

But the answer is no, KSG. You gotta be either Prez or VP. You can be sec of state in 2020 when I take power from you guys. I don't think there's any Constitutional roadblock to that happening.

Isn't it scary when the people exercise their Constitutional right to vote something into law, then the left wing PC police overturn it.

That's the thing, though nowadays. Deviant behavior is the norm. We normal people have become the deviants. How in the hell did that happen?

Darn it, KSG! I just changed my shorts from a post you made a on another thread! Now, I've laughed so hard I've soiled myself again! Stop it, man!

I always tell these folks that I do believe I'd get elected ONCE.

Once is all I would need.

A two year term in Congress would give me enough time to scent-mark every idiot there.

Then I get $150' date='000 a year for life.

That would be most excellent....

Then' date=' because I'd try to actually lead on principles and ethics, I'd get assassinated by one of the guys on the Prayers for Barbara Bush thread. [/quote']

Haven't even clicked over there, I can imagine.

They'd hunt me down and kill me in a liberal induced fit of hate and rage!

Bring 'em on.

In my administration, there would be a few things done differently.

First, my security would finish any confrontation with brutal finality, no need for handcuffs.

If they survived, we would be able to finally give those ***-holes what they need - the death penalty.

Just like where I grew up by Dodge City, a fair trial followed by a first class hanging, all on the same day.

Look at the economic boost, the trickle down effect to the funeral homes, coffin makers, flower shops.

:-)

The thing that pisses me off, is that gay people in California, already have all of the rights that anybody else has. They get all of the benefits of marriage, just not the certificate. In fact, they have the same right to get married to anyone of the opposite sex that an heterosexual has. But that's not enough for the activists, they want to use the courts to overturn the will of the people, the legislature and the constitution to achieve their purpose. If courts can decide all of our "rights" then what is to keep the next court from deciding a different set of rights?
