blindboygrunt Posted June 19, 2019 Author Posted June 19, 2019 Never played an ovation I've heard some great things said about them , but they sure dont look like something that would sound amazing 🤔
kelly campbell Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 never warmed up to them myself as far as tone and I never liked the curved back shape.

drathbun Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 I'm surprised at the prices of some of these guitars. I'm guessing those are starting bids? I mean, Strat #0001 for $150K? The beautiful Taylor 716ce he played "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" live and solo in concert is only $3000? Crikey! And where is the Lewis 24 fret? Edit: I found the Jedsen lap steel!
drathbun Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 The auction is on right now. David's 1969 Martin D35 went for $900,000. Strat 0001 and the Black Strat will be well over a million.
drathbun Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Looks like the D35 went for $1.095M and the Black Strat went for $3.975M. The whole collection went for $21 million in total.Â
blindboygrunt Posted June 21, 2019 Author Posted June 21, 2019 Was indeed over a million 🤣 Ye gods
sbpark Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Over $3.9M for the black Strat, making it the most expensive guitar ever to sell at auction. The D-35 also set a record for the most expensive Martin ever to sell at auction. The previous record holder was Eric Clapton's Martin.
JuanCarlosVejar Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Gilmour’s Costello Century of Progress sold for $68,750 . That might be the highest price a Bozeman era instrument ever sold for (not including the Master Museums)    JC
slimt Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Popular entertainer warrants excellent prices on goods. Well done. Â Â
