Epiphone Sheraton II Pro varnish type?

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

Anyone to help me find out what kind of varnish is used on the Sheraton II Pro? I'd like to buy a guitar stand and make sure it is compatible with the varnish on my guitar.

Thanks!

Stéphane

Yep.. Nitrocellulose only on Elitist series guitars, all other standard production Epiphones are Polyurethane..

Actually, the majority of Elitists are also poly.

Only the most recent Elitist releases (primarily for the Japanese market) are nitro.  This includes revamped versions of the Casino, Riviera, and Texan - all manufactured in Japan by Terada.

A few earlier Terada-made Epiphones had a nitro finish:  The '65 John Lennon Casino (two versions), the '64 John Lee Hooker Sheraton (two versions), and the '64 Paul McCartney Texan.  None of these instruments were part of the Elitist series.

Any stable stand will do the job.  I prefer the little folding Fender stands primarily for the ease of storage and when travelling. Get the "acoustic" model. It has a deeper rest that works very well with my Sheraton.

Yep.... But as to the original question the Epiphone Sheraton II Pro has a Polyurethane finish and should not be effected by contact with a guitar stand..
