My ‘92 Gibson Dove

So Ive had my 1992 Dove now for about 3-4 weeks now and I LOVE it! Its my first maple acoustic and it has a sound thats just unbelievable, It has a very quick attack, also very grand piano like. I wouldn’t really say its super bright (not very Taylor like), but its very chimey, if that makes since. Great for strumming or fingerpicking.. I got an awesome deal on it because the Gibson Fold-O-Matic headstock had been engaged on it and had been repaired. I always loved the looks of the Doves but I had never played one before this one, and since this one came up for sale for the right price, and since I was a Martin guy and hadn’t played a Gibson I had really liked,  I decided I’d buy it and resell it. Well when it arrived the headstock repair had reopened and the headstock was being held on by the black headstock overlay(boy am I glad that overlay didn’t break) so then I REALLY decided I didn’t like Gibsons. The “Center” that sells “Guitars” I bought it from gave me no trouble in paying for the repair so I dropped it off with my Luthier, and picked it up a week later. One of the first things he said to me is “ I wouldn’t sell this one, its one of the best sounding guitars of this style Ive seen, and it plays unbelievably well.” Once he strummed it I knew what he was talking about, it is definitely a keeper. I knew that Gibson had ALOT  of duds before the 90’s, and I’m very glad I got a good one. I know there has been some discussion in the past about what was the best year for the early Bozeman  factory, but I never found a definite answer. in ‘91 they had fullerplast finishes, in ‘93 they had dual action truss rods, so I think ‘92 may be the best year for early bozeman acoustics, or maybe I just got a rare gem😁 Ill post a pic of it soon

Whoops, after looking at my guitar again, I realized that mine was made in september of ‘91, production number 002. Im not old enough to have a senior moment, it must have been a junior moment😋
