Ivan 19 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Hi, I'm having a hard time finding any info on the electronics for the 2018 Firebird, specifically the pots, capacitors, hand wired or pcb? What is/was installed new from the factory? I'd like to save some money and get a 2018 if it is basically the same as the new "original" 2019 model. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Big Bill Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I don't think this gives you the details you are looking for but it appears to be hand wired. http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2018/USA/Firebird-2018.aspx
Ivan 19 Posted July 1, 2019 Author Posted July 1, 2019 Thanks Big Bill, I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding the specs, I cant even find a video on utube, and all of the gibson wiring diagrams I've found are not very specific to the models. Thanks for responding
SteveFord Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Not an 18 but my 2014 is hand wired if that helps any.
Karloff Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Ivan, I have a 2016 and it's handwired. I haven't heard where any of the Firebirds have received the pcb guts . and I've read or heard that the pots are 300k. I had to replace a volume pot in mine and just put a 500k in it. get that Firebird. I love mine. Someday I'll get a 2nd one.
