One of the mother-Birds

This is probably the most indiscreet and reveling photo ever seen of Jagger's alive and kicking stage-Bird.
Whether it's the one from the mid60s shown in the Godard-film etc., I don't know, but is seems to be a 65'er in very good shape.
We zoom in, don't we. In fact so close that it makes me wonder if the back-braces are original.

That looks a lot like the reissue birds from about 2000.

But I'll eat my old Rolling Stones Badge on bread'n'butter if it isn't the real deal. .

The photo of the Hummingbird from Soldier Field Chicago shows enough unique details on that guitar to normally compare with a pic showing his early Bird, but finding a good photo from that era is a tall task. If we could find a better photo from the mid '60's we could look for what's shown in the above post #1: the two light areas of spruce grain running down from where the wings of the bridge taper down, the flat edged areas of cherry burst out from the center seam on the treb side of the lower bout near the tail, the rooster tail of yellowed area above the soundhole (bass side), a blem in the binding out from the two points of the pickguard, and the torch on the headstock has some unique marking in the pearl.

The first 48 seconds of a Godard footage YouTube show (besides Mick's head coming unhinged trying to communicate the groove @ t = :46) very sketchy detail.

The low resolution helps very little, and the Chicago image is also a tough angle and lighting to get a sense of the burst. But yes, the inside of the guitar at Soldier Field looks as clean as the headstock.

Yes Dave, 'came across the old black & white cutie-boy pic of Mick in the hat, but it looked like a non-burst- maybe just handed to him for a photo op, like the famous photo of Robert Johnson with the L-1, and those wondering if that was even his guitar in the photo.

Is that a different guitar where he's sitting in the chair with the ADJ-saddled Bird? Most of the early performance footage has him just doing frontman duties, sans guitar.

Thanks for posting the additional photos- the first one, where he's with Brad Paisley (?) and the Paisley Telecaster gives a much better look at the 'burst.

Out of curiosity, is this the 'bird that was holed up in some airport security closet for decades?

I think the one that was hiding  at Heathrow was his Blonde Bird.

Mick was on Brad's  album a year or two ago. Supposingly they're best friends.

Must be nice. Probably exchange recipes & such. Sitting 'round the fire at Christmastime- would like to hear Mick do Greensleeves. Why don't the Stones have a Christmas album? Too cool, I suppose.

For heavens sake don't bring up 'good' ideas. .

Mick as snowman, Charlie as reindeer, Keith as Santa, , , ho ho ho. .
