12icer Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 I was in Nashville in 1961 and saw a cherry red Gibson in a music shop, the proprietor in the shop said it was a 455 sv (stereo varitone) It looked like a 355 to me but had a few differences. It had gold covers and all gold hardware with a Bigsby long tremolo tailpiece. Never seen or heard of the model before or after. It was twice what a 355 cost at the time so it was a non issue. Had to be one of the best feeling I ever held though.
JimR56 Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 355's had all gold hardware, and a Bigsby was typical also. So I'm not sure what "differences" the guitar really had from a stock 355. The price may have reflected something special about it, or maybe it was just over-priced?
