Interesting!!!

I may have a Gibson phone cover soon

Yeah theres some interesting movement very recently...  In this vid the guy talks about a luthier friend of his who is now officially making in conjunction with Gibson..  Pretty cool.. I just wonder what hoops one would have to jump through to be accepted on to such scheme..

I REALLY wanted to see a flamed maple capo finished in cherry red with the dove inlayed on it, but they don’t make it😢. I would’ve been fine with split parallelograms in cherry red, but apparently they dont do maple in cherry red.

I have difficulty understanding trogly's enthusiasm for much of this stuff. eg: The dark finish on the back of the LP? [huh]

As for the white SG. I thought it was perhaps the ugliest one I had ever seen; and I love the look of SGs.

I hadn't noticed the twin pickup DCs before. I would have have liked to seen more of those.

Firstly I never use a capo on an electric guitar only on acoustics.  Secondly I certainly don't see the need to spend $60 for one, leave alone $200, but to each his own.

Me either, except when I do a set up. I have a couple of nice capos but I don't think I paid more than $40 each for them. Thalia makes a very good capo and the Gibson name and logo are pretty cool but too expensive for me.

There's another use for them?

I like the "dark back" finish.  I wish I had done that for my R7.   In fact, I'm thinking about getting a R6 in a candy apple red with a dark back.

I needed a new case for my phone, so I went ahead and got the SG with Brazillian Lacewood.

They're  expensive, but they have a lifetime guarantee... and they look cool....so what the heck! [smile]

See that?  The collaboration is working already!  [biggrin]

Good grief. I'd go the extra mile and say that it is, without a doubt, the ugliest SG I've ever seen. By a VERY long way.

What is the point of taking the most simple entry-level single-p'up SG and ladling all that ugly expensive crap on top of it? It has become the guitar equivalent of an over-tarted-up whore.

Horrendous in every way.

Thought the rest of the stuff was a bit dull, too. The capos looked to be nicely crafted. I never used one - even although I do still have a Gibson one which I bought in the late '70s - and forgetting the Swarovski(?) broken-glass encrusted ones if a well-made and nicely finished capo will last you a lifetime then I suppose $70 is no great shakes in the grand scheme of things.

Mrs makes Jewelry.  Any money that Fender, Gibson, or Martin have not gotten from me, Swarovski  got.  Next time you chunnel over to (George Blagden voice) Fraaahnntz, stop in Chzeklislovakia or whatever you Euros are calling it these days and visit them.  Just cement, duct tape, screw, glue, and tattoo my utter jealous hatred rage for you.

I like the look of those phone cases. Might snag one for myself. I personally like it when Gibson expands out into areas like this. They certainly gain more visibility and exposure with items like phone covers, shirts, hats, etc.

This coming Sunday, actually. For three weeks. Doubt I'll have time to head across to the Czech Republic (if that's where they're based) but I do aim to bring back our usual haul of plunder so I'll be sure to send you a PM with the snaps. Especially of the cases - once they've been opened...

Thanks Rabs,  you just made me spend 50 bucks.

Some of these companies need to start paying you a commission!
