Jens1171
Could anyone tell me if this appears to be a custom Gibson guitar? It looks like a mismatch of parts but I’m not sure if any of it is legitimately Gibson other than perhaps the pickup? Which could just be a cover? New to this. Thanks. Grog
It has a Les Paul Recording low impedance pickup in the neck position, the rest?????????????
Jens1171
Thanks for the information. I am not finding a ton on the pickup, do you know if they hold any value? Trying to get a price estimate for the strange combo guitar.
Grog
The price on these pickups vary, one sold on Reverb about three years ago for $125. I've seen them go higher. There must be an internal transformer in the guitar or you wouldn't get any sound out of it when plugged in a normal guitar amp. The bridge pickup looks to be a hot humbucker, interesting combination!
G Mac
If I had to guess, I would say that the low impedance pickup is the only Gibson piece on the guitar. The rest looks like it was cobbled together from various low quality sources. Good luck getting it in tune with the bridge set up like that! Hopefully, it plays well and sounds good!
