Riffster
Still, my money is on the Beatles. Another interesting fact is that The Beatles sell more records than the Rolling Stones on an ongoing basis, this, after the Beatles broke up 38 years ago.... Also keep in mind that to press any of the Beatles music takes a freakin' congress act. Their albums took a while to be released on CD right? it is the Brittish versions of the albums too, worldwide. Not only until a few years ago they released the American versions of their albums in a box format.
Thundergod
ABBA (either as the original AND as a franchise).
SilverLesterStd
Most albums sold - The Beatles - 1.3 billion albums Most gold or better albums - Elvis - 80 different gold to multi-platinum albums

Thundergod
Those "most album sold: beatles" things always take on acount their albums as solo artists... and with Paul selling as much as he has, that takes the beatles to #1... but if you caount only band albums then ABBA wins
Riffster
Keep in mind the Beatles music is not sold on iTunes. That is a huge, huge impact.
