dc3c46 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 What is the hype with these "bumble bee " caps? The new '59 335 RI has them and a lot of guys seem to change their caps for these. Any of you guys did so as well? Is there a notable difference in tone?
The Mick Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 give this a read. http://www.singlecoil.com/docs/caps.pdf
Tim Plains Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I did. Yes in one guitar, no in the other. The ones that come stock in Gibson reissues are not real Bees. Real Bees are paper in oil caps.
max2343 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Paper in oil===========is the Bomb Like these in an Original 59 with the 50's wiring, but in a 335 some like a 250k pots to get rid of thin sounding highs
