JustaDonkey Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 I was looking at a guitar online. It is a 2016 SG Special. I noticed on the back there is a box around the "Made in USA" stamp. You can see it in the photo I attached. It almost looked as if it is raised slightly under the paint. I asked the owner about it, and he said it wasn't raised. It kind of made me question the guitar because I have never seen that before on any of my other Gibson guitars. Including ones with a similar satin black finish. Is that just from the stamp pressing a little harder than usual? You can also see a faint line next to the first serial number which makes me think that might be the case. The rest of the guitar looks just fine. Has anyone ever seen that before?
Navy Vet. Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Somebody could have been having a bad day on the stamp line, putting a little bit more elbow grease into it.
Big Bill Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 The serial number looks raised too. I never seen this before. Usually Gibson stamps it then paints over it which make it a bit harder to read. I saw the sale on eBay and the guitar looks great.
