Silverbursted
Here is a question...Is there a string preference (make and model) between a fixed bridge and a floating trem (ie. Floyd Rose). I have replaced my strings my fixed bridge with Ernie Ball Slinky's, but was told they have too much play for a trem system. I recently acquired a sweet vintage Kramer with what really feels like rubber bands and sounds horrid when using the trem. Any recommendations would be appreciated. pdks
If you like Slinky's, you should be able to use them with your trem. There's other things you can do to help keep your guitar in tune, from simple approaches like 'lubing' the nut, to bridge mods. The Ernie Ball forum is a good place to poke around for that kind of stuff.
Raptor
Yes guitar string companies and people will tell you that certain strings are no good for certain guitars i.e. tremolos, but if you liked the Slinkys and they were staying in tune for you then go back to them. Some strings do not like some guitars, yes. Some people don't like certain strings and that is fine. But you should go with what works for you and feels the best for you. Heck I have a set of D'Addario 8's on a tremolo Strat that I play and I like them and don't break them either.

AXE®
For the record I have two with trems . Both Kahler . One locker bridge and nut 2700 model. and one rolling bridge with a locking nut . I/ve thrown every thing you can imagine on them and only with a slight adjustment on the claw springs they all worked well ... GHS To Elixer all good ....08s to .12s
