Eric Carrier Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Hello there, I have a J-45 and still dont know what year it was made. I've heared 1962 or 1964. On the back upper neck is grooved 165058. Inside is stamped J-45 ADJ. BRIDGE. It is red and yellowish. 2 metal strips of 3 round whites keys. Can you help me out. If you need a photo just tell me and I'll send you one Thank you

MorrisrownSal Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Seems to be 1964. i bet that’s a fantastic guitar.
zombywoof Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Welcome to the Forum. It has always seemed odd to me though that Gibson would note the "ADJ Bridge" in the model designation when every flippin' J45 had that feature. Not like in the old days when it was an option.

Dave F Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 It’s like having the kid brother that thinks it’s his duty to make a wise crack at every conversation. You learn to ignore him and go on.
Jinder Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Sounds very much like my '67 J45. Mine has the 'J45 ADJ' denomination on the centre strip on the back and the red-to-yellow burst. Such a great guitar, I bet yours is terrific too!

I can think of better ways to welcome a new forum member who has a serious question. 😉 Eric: I have a 1965 J-50 that is probably very similar. Welcome to the forum! It would be fun to see a picture of your J-45, here's what my J-50 looks like.
