So I know this has been done before, but I thought I’d do it again (I can comment on an older thread, but I thought I might as well start a new one), so I still havent gotten my J45 back from my luthier yet, but Im already making preparations😁 and I’ve decided to replace the Grover Rotomatics  with  ivoroid or plastic button nickel tuners....But what brand? Id prefer on that doesn’t require me to but a seperate bushing, but thats not a deal breaker. Price, of course, is a factor, I’d like to get waverlys but I’ve pretty much decided they’re too much money for tuners right now (unless someone’s got some extras lying around they need to get rid of😜). I kind of think I’m looking for 3 to a side not 3 on one piece but I’m not set on that, I’m mostly just set on the tuner buttons being white😂 and of course, being able to hold tune. Any suggestions? I’ll probably replace the black (Tusq?) nut with a bone one, and I have an Anthem SL Im going to install in it also to replace the Element.

Gotoh are usually a good bet.

I have been considering Gotoh tuners, they seem to have a good reputation , too, but which one? I was kinda thinking about getting the kluson style tuners but I’m not sure how they would compare to the open back tuners. I assume that they would be smoother than the open back ones since they’re sealed, but I don’t know for sure
