Rocky4 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I just saw an E Insurance commercial that promoted some hour without power event to combat global warming. Wouldn't that be potential marketing suicide? Most conservatives (like me) do not believe in global warming. With the ad, E Insurance alienated a large part of the population.
ksdaddy Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 E-Surance (or whatever it is) is very much 'green' and caters to that demographic. Cutting trees is evil and if you buy your insurance online that will save a tree and the planet. However if I were a cartoon I'd be tappin' Erin Esurance.
grampa Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 If something like that bothers your politics, you are way too sensitive.
Rocky4 Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 If something like that bothers your politics' date=' you are way too sensitive.[/quote'] No, it shocked me that a company would use that angle for advertising. Somebody got paid to come up with the marketing scheme. If you are trying to reach the biggest audience, you wouldn't go with a controversial topic.

Lots of companies are using the "green" angle in their advertising. It may be controversial but it is popular.

I find myself more and more wondering just how I got so old so quick.
ckledzepplin Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I'm conservitive and i believe in global warming, but it is not caused by humans as much as people think. global warming is caused from the earth going in cycles, this global warming has happened many times before. Humans have affected this cycle with the burning of fossil fuels, but it is a tiny effect. The main gas resonsible for global warming is water vapor.
MikeRom Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I don't know how it is that E-surance thinks there so 'green', other than they say they are. Yousto say quote, buy, print but they some how manage to leave that pesky 'print' part out of their 'green' comercials any more. No more 'green' than any other on-line insurance company IMO. Large, obvious hunks of B.S. eminating from that company. yousto???

solacematt Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 However if I were a cartoon I'd be tappin' Erin Esurance. Nice!
